A software company for which I used to work put up its entire portfolio on the web in the form of zipped save files. The zips were the self-extracting variety; i.e., double-click it to extract to the save file.. We did not go any further, but provided step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing / upgrading the application. Since we included only non-observable *Pgm objects and the applications required a rather verbose security code, we didn't care if anyone downloaded it; we would even give them a temporary code so they could test drive (just had to call or email us - and deal with our sales personnel later).

Haven't done much in the way of details, but I suppose one could build and include a PC procedure that did the whole unzip, create save file on the target, ftp the PC's save file to the i, and run the install process.
