I found this article (
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0903linqentity/)
about using Visual Studio with IBM i. Okay, so they don't mention any costs
in the article. They point to two tools:

* IBM Data Server Driver for ODBC, CLI, and .NET
* IBM Database Add-Ins for Visual Studio

To me, it looks like IBM Data Server Driver requires DB Connect Unlimited
for System i (licensed product) to work. I can't tell if the Visual Studio
Add-Ins require licensing.

In summary, it looks like if I want to get this to work, I have to buy DB
Connect and everything else I need to get their example to work is free.

Can anyone else help decipher this and tell me if my thinking is correct?
Why can't they just spell it out for us IBM admin n00bs?
