Oh I don't know....

It seems to me that the changes at 6.1 were huge....so the step from
v5r4 to 6.1 is huge....whereas the step from 6.1 to 7.1 is pretty
minor...

I think 7.1 has been out long enough to move to...if you're going to
make a jump, might as well go just a tad further and get current.

Cat no longer maintains or distributes the software i'm hoping our new
"support" group gets the cert out faster though.  only time will tell....
