Hi,

Standard IBM CL does not support that.

You could use the C I/O routines (_ROpen, _RReadP, etc.) from within an ILE CL (CLLE) *PGM, to accomplish the same functionality.

Or, visit http://www.powercl.com and download a free trial of "CL for Files" (CLF) - a product from Bruce Vining Services. CLF makes it easy to write CL programs that can do all of the kinds of I/O that you would normally have to use RPG or COBOL to do.

All the best,

Hi,

Using CLP I can read a specific RRN/ Key record using below code.
DCLF Z5PFILEP
OVRDBF FILE(Z5PFILEP) TOFILE(Z5PFILEP) +
POSITION(*RRN 4) SHARE(*NO)
RCVF

Question is: I can place my pointer at *END of file as
OVRDBF FILE(Z5PFILEP) TOFILE(Z5PFILEP) +
POSITION(*END) SHARE(*NO)
But How I can read the previous record. That is the Last record of the
file.

Thanks.
