There also could be another reason

The actual program may have a skip to line 6 on a new page
... and the printer is not sitting at line 6

Or whomever took paper off the printer last did not push the top of form button
... it then would skip the 1st time

Is someone else that is unfamiliar with the printer
... doing something they are not aware they are not supposed to do when they take paper off

This is not something that has never happened before

Subject: IBM 6400 Printer Issues

Hello

We have an IBM 6400 printer attached to an I5 running v5r4 via a 4178 adapter

Before each report the printer is sending a line feed..so the first page of each report is down 1 line...Within a report is fine no extra line feeds...so if we print 6 reports in a row...the 6th report starts 6 lines down....we have sent traces to IBM...they tell us that the I5 is not sending the line feed...hardware cannot see anything within the printer setup that is sending a line feed

We have it defined as *vrt 3812....

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mary
