We are moving files from local IFS to Mounted NFS on a NAS. We have a
database built with the current location, partial. The root is hard
coded. I just have to change that hard code to the new IFS root
directory right. NAH all fields in the DB are upper case and some of
the directories are lower, First Capital, or all upper. Just trying to
make my job easier but it looks like that is not going to happen.

Chris

I'm not sure why RPGLE can't deal with case-sensitive file systems.
Anything you put in quotes can be mixed case, right? There are APIs to
retrieve directory names and file names, and there's an API to retrieve
the list of NFS mounts - and that'd give you the value you need to start

with in the share.

Am I missing something?

Thank you. And since the client is RPGLE on the iSeries, I suppose it
is not possible. Guess I will have to use the windows share with the
MKDIR '/QNTC/SERVER' to use the windows share.

It appears to be working as designed. I found this link (
http://toasters.mathworks.com/toasters/10980.html) which says:

The problem isn't just with the server, it's the client as well. Any
Unix-based NFS client will also operate in a case-sensitive manner,
as

far

as I know.

There may be some vendor-specific workarounds (server and client).
