Is there a "k" on your F-spec line. :)

(Your chain is retrieving by record number, not by key. Add the "k" and you will retrieve by key. That should fix you right up.

Hi guys and girls again :-)

I have a problem with chain operation - it doesn't found record but it
exist in file.

I have some Logic File where key fields are:
ISBCT K01 Batch Count. . . . . S 6 0 (numeric)
ISMCU K02 Cost Center. . . . . A 12 (char)
ISTRDJ K03 Transaction Date . . S 6 0 (numeric)
and rest of fields..

in RPG program I have

definition:
FF57217C2 if e disk

work field definition
D PSDOCO S 6 0

at first I run SQL statement where I retrieve field PSDOCO.

then if PSDOCO is not zero I run this code:

/free
CHAIN PSDOCO I57217C;
IF %FOUND;
E3$FM# = IS$FM#;
ENDIF;
/end-free

Field IS$FM# is in F57217C2 file, I57217C is record in F57217C2, when I
check with runqry I find record with key field PSDOCO - it is one
record. I ahven't any omit in logic file.

But If I call RPG statement it doesn't found it? Why?

Tomek
