As long as the *OUTFILE you use is closed before running the DSPPGMREF
there's no problem in putting everything into the one file. I do this
in a couple of my utilities (CHKLVLCHK & DBG/400 -
http://www.dbg400.net/foswiki/bin/view/DBG400/RpgleDBG108R4 is the
routine for the latter).

I do understand - it's what we had to do back before these APIs started
appearing in V2R3 (I think) - it's just less convenient. So what I've
landed on is that I will write my own @PGLPGMREF API. When it's done, I'll
post the code somewhere, and a link here.
