Pete--

Are you looking for a one-time search, or a programmable search?

If you're trying to scan a DB2 file:

For a one-time, use STRPDM, find your source file, key "25" then F13
then ENTER. Key your search string and press ENTER again. This works
with options 2 & 3, Work With Objects / Members.

Command FNDSTRPDM appears to do the same from the command line, but I've
never used it.
