This isn't necessarily true. SSDs are still bleeding edge technology.
They often fail with no warning whatsoever, and if they do, all the
data is gone. This happens much more often than it does with hard
disks - the latter had time to mature, but SSDs haven't.

If you're interested in SSD technology, go read up on anandtech.com.
They currently have one of the best articles about the SSD market
(which is very interesting).

I own two SSDs right now (an OCZ Vertex in my work laptop, and an
Intel X25-M G2 in my computer at home).

So, then, why would anyone want to add SSD devices to a RAID set? :-o

Imagine the downtime if one breaks. Also, you'll get more speed if you
add them to a RAID set.
