I should clarify.....
I am setting up a job in our robot scheduler to move the splf's from one queue to another. It won't let me do a *select in the Chgslfa because it says it needs a device attached.

CHGSPLFA affects *only* the spooled file attributes. it neither cares nor
requires anything else. an outq is an outq. outqs do not require a
printer, etc whatsoever. why would you think it would not work? this
would have been easily tested. use CHGSPLFA to move the spooled file from
one outq to another! i guess common sense really isn't that common
anymore...

I am trying to copy all spool files from an outq(that doesn't have a
device attached) to another outq(that doesn't have a device attached).
Basically I am aging out the first queue and keeping a save on the second.
Is there anyway to make this command work without devices attached or do I
have to create a device for the first queue?
