Thanks for your reply Chuck
I did not know/realize that CPYFRMIMPF had "from record" "to record"
parameters
EXACTLY what I want

Not sure what "have to receive a csv stream file" intends to
imply. However if a STMF with two separate record layouts exists
where the first record is different [e.g. the column heading record]
than the later records [e.g. the actual database file data], then
the CPYFRMIMPF supports a FROMRCD() parameter for which the database
data import request can be requested to start parsing the database
data from the second stream record through the last record using the
specification: FROMRCD(2 *END)

Regards, Chuck

I have to receive a csv stream file into the ifs, but the file
will have 2 different record types The first record will be one
type, subsequent records will be of another type Anyone any ideas
how to create (probably) 2 physical files from the ifs files?
