So you are taking full system 21 save backups everyday?

If that is the case then maybe you would want to pay for offsite storage
like Iron Mountain, but if you are only doing data, program object, and
data backup then what's the use if you have HA? That is my whole point.
We don't do full system saves every day. We can send our full system save
tapes to our facility with the HA machine and send the HA full system tape
to here. If we need to restore either machine from the tape its only a 3
hour drive. How long does it take to get your tapes from Iron Mountain?
If we are talking about a difference of 1 or 2 hours I think that saving
your money and doing it in house would probably be better.

Just my take on it.

Ok, back to the beginning...
We were discussing why you need to have full system saves of your primary
system offsite. If the primary dies, along with the tape, you'll have to
catch back up on ptf's. I do agree that ptf's should be 'somewhat' in
sync. I say somewhat because you shouldn't IPL both machines at the same
time.
