1 - I've not used the HMC schedule, but I thought I heard that if you
reboot your hmc you have to reenter the schedule entries - which makes no
sense to me.

I know this was the case with scheduled entries on the primary
partition, though I've not tried scheduled entries since getting an
HMC. It's fairly simple to control resource moves using SSH (Secure
SHell) links between the System i and the HMC. I've just had to
revisit this following a machine migration so I'm glad I kept notes:

The HMC can move IO Adapters via a schedule entry, which makes it very
easy.

Subject: sharing a tape library between two partitions

I need to share a tape library between two partitions for backup using
BRMS which will use DDM so I have one database.

I know I can move a tape drive/library from one partition to another
with a pgm and that is an option.

What other ways can I share the tape library between two partitions?

Electric SCSI switch?  Daisy chain SCSI devices? etc?

Jerry
