RE: What is the effect of deleted records on program performance?

We have some programs which use SQL, but this is a JDE Shop using
DreamWriter, which dynamically builds and executes the OPNQRYF
before calling the RPG program.

IF the query plans created for either the SQL or the OPNQRYF involve
tablescans then you're reading 20% more rows than you need to. So figure
the table scans will be 20% faster. :-) Of course, if the query plan is
doing an index-only lookup, or probing w/in key via an index then the
deleted rows will have a much lower impact.
