I didn't pay anything as we were under SWMA at the time.

That's amazing. I tried to get a SWMA on the 150 and they said it wasn't
available. I have a SWMA on the 520. I'll give them a call on Monday and see
what it will take to get v5r2.

Thanks,

Gary

I have a 150 that runs OS/400 V5R2, perhaps you need to get a little newer
on your os.

Thank you for the information. I tried upgrading a couple years ago and
they
said v4r4 was the latest version that would work. I just called and they
are
not answering. I guess they went home early today. I will call again on
Monday.

Since they wouldn't allow a software subscription do you remember what they
charged you for the OS?

I really only need it to help get me to a new 520 I have sitting here. I
haven't had time to convert over.

Thanks,

Gary Kuznitz

Subject: Client Access Disconnects

Client Access is disconnecting on a irregular bassis. I have been putting
up
with this for years and would really like to fix it.

1. It's running XP Pro sp3
Client Access v5r1 with service pack SI11806
OS/400 v4r4 on a 150 (this is the last release a 150 will allow)
No XP firewall
ZoneAlarm is running.
These Ports are open.
23
449
8470-8476
ICMP Echo is allowed in and out

CHGTELNA
TIMMRKTIMO 40
CHGTCPA
TCPKEEPALV 120min
SYSVAL
QINACTITV *NONE
QINACTMSGQ *DSCJOB
QDSCJOBITV 240min
QLMTDEVSSN 0
On the PC the WS file has:
[Telnet5250]
KeepAlive=Y
All devises are assigned a name.

I don't want the workstations to time out.
It would be nice if they would re-connect by them selves. (I've never
heard
of
anyone acomplishing this.) What happens is the session disconnects. The
last

job
is still active. 2. I'd like to know how to get the job to cancel on it's
own?
I end the job *Immed. The device ends up in a SignOn Display state. 3.
I'd
like
to know how to make it go to a vary on pending state? I very off the
device.
I
very it back on to get it to very on pending. I re-connect the
workstation.

Thank you,

Gary Kuznitz
