Hi Vern,

Thanks for the heads-up. I think that many banks have gone away from requiring actual magnetic ink, since the clearing process has mostly moved away from paper. As I understand it, the checks are scanned and sent electronically to the processing centers, instead of delivering them via airplane. This change was due in large part to two major airline (no fly) outages: 9/11 and a more recent one where a large part the electric grid in the Northeast had trouble.

Seems you need a special toner, as well - for the Magnetic part of MICR
- just googled on "micr toner hp" and got lots of hits - at least you
used to have to do this.
