If you just have to pursue this, don't forget that imbedded sql can do
wonders with SOUNDEX.

values soundex('FLINTSTONE'), SOUNDEX('FLINSTONE'),
SOUNDEX('JABLOWME'), SOUNDEX('JABLOWMI')

returns

This can be used in comparisons. In fact you may want to translate your
list of known fakes into a SOUNDEX table and then compare the soundex of
the data entered to the soundex table.

CREATE TABLE ROB/SOUNDEXTBL AS (
SELECT DISTINCT SOUNDEX(NAMES) AS SOUNDEXVAL
FROM ROB/BADNAMES)
WITH DATA
