Granted, I'm not a programmer (expect CL) but I don't think I've heard "API" mentioned once in the ten years I've been here. I've have heard "free" (as in RPG), WDSC, subfiles, chain, etc but not API. Are we in the Stone Age?
Any other shops out there that don't use API's?

Actually we have people in the department whose goal is to retire before
they ever "have" to use a subprocedure, WDSC, real date fields, etc. But
they bang out APIs. It's just a skill you need nowadays.

Now, THAT is useful info! Interesting that it took so long to hit
the list though. Apparently, it hasn't gotten wide exposure. I do
see that it's been mentioned in a couple posts to lists here in
recent years.
It's useful as long as you're familiar with exit points, which I'm not. I
was hoping for a command...
