AAAAHHHHHH!!! Rewrite!!!!

Seriously, given that you don't need the PC code, and that's 1/2 the
codebase, just rewrite the darn program. Seems straight forward and
isolated enough to do "right" in something like RPGLE.

That program is unpteen levels down in a ton of C code. It's running on
about 800 systems owned by a number of customers and has been running for 16
years. We re-write nothing unless Moses shows up and points to some
commandments on the back of the tablets he brought down from the mountain.

It was such basic stuff that we almost forget that it was there. I would
agree it should be simple but as much as I'm an RPG fan for almost 40 years
I really don't like the idea of forcing RPG to be that friendly with a
system that is 99% C for the server side of the application.

It may be that re-writing is in the cards but only after we understand why?
