The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Hi folks
We've just upgraded our HMC and have encountered some odd errors
running commands to move resources. We control our switchable tape
library using CL wrappers around HMC commands, using SSH support on
the i5 to do so securely[1]. After the upgrade we can no longer run
certain commands this way, getting a 'HSCL350B The user does not have
the appropriate authority.' error. Listing the hardware works
(lshwres) but changing it (chhwres) fails.
All the users trying this have the hmcsuperadmin Task Role and *can*
change resources if doing so through the HMC web Workplace - it's just
SSH sessions that return the error. I've changed our routines to run
the commands as hscroot (which has the same hmcsuperadmin Task Role
and works fine) but I'd prefer to have it done by user so the logs
give a bit more info. Has anyone using SSH encountered this - the IBM
help for the error code only suggests turning it off and on again :(
Regards, Martin
[1] I did a write-up on this a few years back which points to the
relevant IBM docs to set this up:
