Yes, on my hmc I have console sessions open to all 10 lpars at once. Make
them "shared" not "dedicated".
Then on a PC that sits at a more ergonomic area, and it's easier to cut
and paste stuff, we share many of those sessions.
While you can start a shared session on the pc, going through the hmc, to
the lpar for DSP01 I recommend starting it on the hmc first, then jumping
on to that share from the PC. If you start it on the hmc first and lose
comm from the pc you can reconnect and it never knew you disconnected.
Jump right back into a full save, RCLSTG, whatever. If you start it on
the PC and lose comm you're toast. Figured that one out after the VPN
timed out doing a new lpar install back home while I was COMMON
connections in Dallas. Thanks to Larry for that tip. Ok, so it was after
the third time of formatting drives and installing LIC... Simply called
back home and had a coworker start the session on the hmc and then shared
that.
