Take a look at ATK (http://www.atk-framework.com)

That certainly does look interesting. I've downloaded but have not looked in the file yet. Any idea if it can use db2 tables? It mentions MySQL and some other databases on one of the pages but didn't mention db2 (or specifically db2/400).

Not currently (other than ODBC type interface) but there are two things underway that will change that shortly.

1) The DB2 storage engine for MySQL will be coming out "any day now" - write letters to MySQL - they are the ones holding it up as I understand it.

2) There is an IBM i specific version of ATK available (check out www.i7.nl ) _but_ it is only available in Dutch right now. The folks at iBuildings who are behind both versions recognized a symbiosis with the i community and produced this version - hopefully an English version will appear soon. I'll post again if I hear anything.

In the meantime you might want to read my article on ATK at: http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/enewsletterexclusive/23510p1.aspx
