I am hoping somebody has knowledge of VMS. Specifically, I have two jobs on
System i that utilize FTP to retrieve specific files from a VMS system. I was
just informed that an upgrade is planned for that system. The engineer doing
the upgrade is converting Multinet to HP TCPIP. I was asked, innocently, if
that would be a problem. Without knowing how the two differ, if they differ,
all I can do is be concerned. Both jobs currently rely on the directory file
format returned by FTP to determine if a file should subsequently be retrieved
from that system.

This is like taking a car to a garage for an oil change and being told that the
transmission needs to be replaced. At least, I was told BEFORE the upgrade was
performed. I just have no information to work with at this point. Thus my
email.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

John McKee
