Yup...beware of the OpenSSH (iSeries) vs. SSH2 (Unix) incompatibility.
You can convert either key format to the other one.

Use key authentication instead of using password authentication. This
will allow you to automate this fully.

Run ssh-keygen on the i, make sure that the permissions on the home
directory are so that only the user running SSH can read them, and
then copy the public key to the server. Depending on the software the
server runs, the key format might need to be converted. Putty contains
a tool that can do this.
