Understood. If your network failover is quick enough, most clients will
not timeout and then never know you are running on a backup. At this
point you are done on the iSeries side and need to look at your network
configuration which not a topic for this list.

Thanks Chris. It's the "reconnect" issue that causes problems. Folks in
the company don't understand why this switch can't be invisible to the
remote users. I haven't kept up with networking for the last three or so
years, probably a world of change...
