My first IBM system was a 3031 with 4MB of RAM! This was in the late
70's... The RAM was a 'wire and donut' configuration housed in a box 3
feet square and about 6 feet high.

Regarding that 370 I used in high school (and the 4341 that replaced
it): The front-end processors ("cluster controllers") for 3270 data
stream weren't much bigger than a 40S or a "fat" 200. The front-end
processor for async ASCII terminals was a rack of equipment as tall as a
refrigerator.
