What I usually do is go to the page above the one I want to link to, for instance, if I want to link
to the API finder, I go to the "Application programming interfaces" page.

From that page I can copy the link location for the API finder.

Subject: Infocentre tip

One of my pet peeves about the Infocentre since V5R3 has been that it
not straightforward to bookmark a particular page. It turns out that I'm
just dense :)

I suspect that at least a few people out there have been as unobservant
as I, so here's how to 'deeplink'
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_linking) in to the Infocentre:

1. Go to the Infocentre homepage:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/index.jsp
or for other i5/OS versions:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/

2. a) Find the topic of interest by drilling down through the Contents
pane.
or
2. b) Search to find the topic of interest, then click the 'show in
Table of Contents' icon to the top right of the topic page.

3. Right-click the entry in the Contents pane and
Firefox: 'Copy link location'
IE : 'Copy shortcut'

4. Open the bookmark creation dialogue in your browser and paste the link.

For example, here is a direct link to the API Finder:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/index.jsp?topic=/api
finder/finder.htm
