I think QZDAPKG is used by system queries (i.e. over catalogue files etc).
Application packages are used by application queries.

Here's more info on SQL packages:

Subject: QZDAPKG and ODBC/OLEDB/JDBC package support

All,

I'm confused....

This IBM document 377117296 - Deleting the Database Host Server's SQL
Package,
http://tinyurl.com/yrtkyb, along with multiple web articles seem to imply
that the QGPL/QZDAPKG
*SQLPKG object is where statements coming in from ODBC/OLEDB/JDBC drivers
are stored.

However, when configuring JDBC, when you turn on "extended dynamic" you have
to specify a library and
package name.

So my question, when does QGPL/QZDAPKG package come into play vs. the one
specified on the JDBC
connection?

Charles Wilt
