I have to ask: Why?
Their goal is NOT to duplicate an existing message id to a new one and
leave the old one there. Their goal is to duplicate the text to a new
message and remove the old message id. Wouldn't that be like: Let's
duplicate CPF9898 to CPF9868 and remove CPF9898? Mightn't there be any
negative ramifications from not having CPF9898 anymore?

Or, is the problem that someone created a message id that basically says
"All dames are bi...." and your goal is to find out where the blazes that
is called? If so, simply delete the message description.
