I would suspect that their issue is rather specific. Everyone has
problems at some point in time. Having been a former Notes/Domino email
user that has migrated to Outlook/Exchange my only opinion is that both
products have their good points and bad points. If I had to chose from
scratch I think I would go with Notes/Domino. My opinion of
Outlook/Exchange was actually more positive prior to the migration. I
thought we were going to get more functionality than we did - this
migration did not improve costs nor functionality.

Subject: Lotus Notes vs. Exchange

I thought Rob might appreciate this.

I want to be careful in my language here, because I don't want to be
characterized as poking a stick in Penton's eye; they're in enough hurt
as
it is. So anybody reading this, I am truly sorry for Penton's
misfortune
and I'm just relaying some information that's pretty germane to the
Midrange
world.

System i Network recently sent out an email in which they state that
their
conversion from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange basically took down
their
email, hard. They have been without email for I think a couple of days
now.

I have no other information, so I can't even say this is an Exchange
issue
per se, but one thing I do know about Lotus (my brother was a very
high-end
Domino administrator) is that it runs and runs and runs.
