From: Joe Pluta

Because otherwise I'm down to trial and error (swapping cards and so on),
because I don't know if IBM will help me scratch install on third-party
disk drives.

And the answer is... shut up, reboot and don't touch ANYTHING.

Yes indeed. Maybe I actually got things working with my 65/21 antics.
Maybe re-IPLing off the V5R1 disks cleared up any confusion the machine had.
But generally, just powering up the machine and going away for an hour
worked. I came back to the lovely new i5/OS screen prompting me for my
language ID and all is good.

Sort of.

It doesn't recognize my disk drives and it's a little confused when I try to
install things onto them. I'm still not sure whether I have a RAID set
active or not (I guess I'll find out about that later). And thank heavens
for Dr. Franken's build log for Frankie III; I've been getting just about
every code he got, and so when it hangs I can just "step away from the
keyboard".

Short version: I'm past where I was Friday, and I think I may actually be
loading the OS now.

Joe
