Sounds good... I should be receiving SP1 any day now.

I have updated two HMCs now to Service pack 1, and everything seems to have
gone very smooth and is working fine. Always good when that happens.

Still can't output the HMC sysplans into the SPT tool, which is a huge
failure on IBMs part.

Subject: RE: SP1 of HMC V7R310

Customers with existing HMC machine type 7310 with V6 R1.2 or higher may
upgrade to HMC V7
R3.1.0 by ordering the MES (Miscellaneous Equipment Specification) 0962
through their IBM Sales Representative or Business Partner. The HMC code
V7
R3.1.0 may also be downloaded, but MES 0962 must still be ordered to
complete the conversion from V6 to V7. The MES updates the HMC machine
records to ensure continued product support. Machine records are not
automatically updated when
the code is downloaded so this requirement of ordering MES 0962 is
displayed on the download
web site for the MES. The MCRSA (Machine Control Program Remote Support
Agreement) is common
for HMC V4, V5, V6, and V7.

Anyone ever read that above? I've never heard this, but found it when
researching the SP1 for 7.3.1...

Sounds good - mine logged:

E3550046

An uncaught exception has been caught by the thread group. An error log is

created to determine which code failed to handle the exception.

User Response

The secondary data block with ID "81" should be analyzed to determine the

code that is in error

Everyone that I have done has called home with an E355xxxx right after the
upgrade. AS well as right after the one corrective service (MH01015) we
have been putting on all V7.3 upgrades.

Mine looks like it called home just after the upgrade.

Rob,

I haven't yet. I am thinking of doing it next week on one
that
I am upgrading from 6.2 to 7.3

I see there are a few issues fixed in SP1 which I was getting
after upgrading to 7.3 (some of the call home messages).

Let me know how you make out.

Pete

Chad,

I have loaded it on about 15 HMCs, and I have not had a
problem with this at all.

Rob - are you still liking 7.3.1? I'm about to walk in the system room and
load it right now! ;)
