Monitor - yes - can't vary off a device in use.Check the F1 help in VRYCFG
to get the CPF msg to monitor.
There is a security consideration to deleting the devices (or not having
the system value for nbr to create set to only what is needed) - it allows
someone to guess at user/pwd for as long as the system will create a new
virtual device.

monitor for active devices when you do the vary off to prevent the command
from hanging?
