We have our user profiles set to disable after 3 invalid attempts. So I'm
not too worried there.
.. all I'm pointing out is this scenario:
Try user bob - 1,2,3 - disable qpadev000a and user bob (if exists)
user clicks connect - system assigns next avail virtual
Try user mary - 1,2,3 - disable qpadev000b and user mary (if exists)
user clicks connect - ....
and on & on until the max # virtuals reached

Monitor - yes - can't vary off a device in use.Check the F1 help in VRYCFG
to get the CPF msg to monitor.
There is a security consideration to deleting the devices (or not having
the system value for nbr to create set to only what is needed) - it allows
someone to guess at user/pwd for as long as the system will create a new
virtual device.

I know this is a late question to this thread - however do you have to
monitor for active devices when you do the vary off to prevent the command
from hanging?
