I have seen this happen when special printer control type characters were
imbedded in the splf output. Can't remember which one, but it's usually a
logical not (¬) or percent (%) or combination of these. These characters tell
PCL to do something. Please scan the splf file before printing for special
characters. Later

subject: RE: Printer Printing Extra Page

This is so weird... I just had the same thing happen to me in the last month as
well! Program hasn't changed in years and the only thing changed is the
physical printer. In my case it is an HP P2015DN. The odd thing is that the
user claims it does NOT happen all the time. A variety of spool files from the
iSeries go out this printer but he claims the extra "garbage page" only comes
out on a certain report, and even then, apparently not all the time.

In my case, the outq is a RMTOUTQ and we have lots of other printers getting
the same spool file without this problem. I'm not sure if they print PC jobs
(like email/Word docs) but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure they were doing
it before they changed out printers though as well. We are on a 820 with V5R3
and nothing major has changed on the iSeries side of things either.

I would LOVE to hear if anyone has a solution or ideas on this one.
