Kirk, The answer is of course, "it depends".

To move resources(mem/proc) around you do not have to IPL as long as you only move enough to keep it between your min and max values.

So I would venture to say that you might not need to IPL the primary but may have to IPL a partition if you remove an amount of proc/mem that takes you below the min you have set for that partition.

We want to add a 0595 currently to the 3rd (empty) HSL loop and then reallocate CPU, Memory and add the new HW to the 4th partition. I s this too advanced for a 825 running V5R2?
