i5/OS has been available as an option for highend p systems for a few
years now. It's processor restricted enough to discourage you from
buying a p5/p6 for the primary purpose of running i5/OS.

I would expect z/OS (for power architecture) to be similarly restricted
on both p & i hardware. z hardware could easily have the highest markup.

As the cost of servers decline, Rochester will have to depend less on
hardware markup. It would be better if i5/OS was priced on it's own (no
hardware subsidies).
