Because NASCAR drivers make the cars and drive in them at breakneck speeds, the car manufactures learn stuff. So when they make my car they make is to so when I *do* drive to the store I am safer.

Now, I am not saying I am a NASCAR driver, but in our little World, David Gibbs is as close as we are going to get to having a Dale Earnhardt of the System i. :)

Would you drive a NASCAR car to get a loaf of bread? How about to move
a houseful of furniture across the country? Probably not...it's not
the right tool for the job. The System i is not the right tool for
every job.

Well, I agree with all of these sentiments. Next question: Why is the
System i inferior? What can be done to make it at least an equal? Some
of the issue, I am sure, is implementation, and having a few boxes in
production, in the real World environment should allow us to bring the
System i up to World standards for Internet usage.

But then, I am a NASCAR fan, and I believe that the car companies have
learned a lot from their racing ventures.

In defense, I might add, "use the right tool (or the one best suited) for
the job".
You wouldn't use a hammer to dig a whole would you?

Would the heavy hitters on this list please make the case with the right

people to get David to Rochester for a week or so to get a new box
properly configured, and send him home with it? Please?

I agree with Scott Klement's response and also add that "if it's not
broke, don't fix it".
