Kirk,

I don't know for an absolute fact but the 515 and 525 are not new
hardware platforms in themselves. They are just respins of a 520. You
might have an IOP that has different requirements.

Not knowing the nature of your save/restore problem I can only
speculate. But again, the 515 and 525 themselves are not new hardware
products.

The PTF for user based pricing could be an issue.

Subject: Minimum V5R4 Level to Support 515 and 525

I've now had a PMR open in the Save/Restore queue for over a day and a
half. Now I grant you I did open it as a Sev 3, but geeze these boxes
have been shipping since 4/20.

The announcements say V5R4 and that's it. I have heard from IBM Partner
Line 'Any version of V5R4 will work'. On a conference call with my
distributor that had Ian Jarman (sp?) on it the answer was 'probably
the
latest cume' or something similar. SupportLine has a reference that a
SIxxxxx PTF is required to handle the user based pricing...

So does ANYONE on this list know for a fact the 'Minimum Required OS and

LIC Levels' to support a 515 or 525? Not the 'Suggested or Recommended'
anything the 'Required'

Thanks
