It seems that one of the major differentiations is whether the person is
an employee of your company or not. Which might tend to be on your
honor. It may also deal with authentication which brings up some
interesting questions - LDAP, etc.

We are looking to rightsource our Internet and Extranet servers and
bring them in internally. Current pricing changes make this a much more
affordable. I should have a reconfigured system some time next week to
confirm. While the deal is more targeted to SMB's I think it will have
some impact on those people who are looking at the Internet or a service
provider model.

While not necessarily perfect for everybody the two licensing changes
(i5/OS Licensing Per User, i5/OS Application Server) are huge changes
and go a long way to solving certain licensing problems. These options
provide opportunities for us to save tens of thousands in of dollars in
one scenario to hundreds of thousands of dollars in another. While I'm
sure someone has some sort of issue with these and the definition may
take some getting used to I think it's a very large change.

i5/OS user entitlement: To authorize access to i5/OS operating system,
for users who are employees or similar personnel of your enterprise or
individuals to whom you provide hosted services, obtain one i5/OS user
entitlement for each user.

You have two options for obtaining i5/OS user entitlements:

Block of users:
Purchase an i5/OS user entitlement for each user. User entitlements are
purchased in blocks to entitle a specific number of users to use the
i5/OS operating system.

Unlimited users:
Purchase an i5/OS user entitlement for unlimited users. An unlimited
i5/OS user entitlement can be purchased to authorize an unlimited number
of users to use i5/OS operating system on a machine. This feature is
available only for the model 525.

External users: To authorize access to i5/OS for users external to your
enterprise, such as customers or business partners who are not employees
or similar personnel of your enterprise or individuals to whom you
provide hosted services, obtain one i5/OS user entitlement for each
user.

You have two options for obtaining i5/OS user entitlements:

Block of users:
Purchase an i5/OS user entitlement for each user. User entitlements are
purchased in blocks to entitle a specific number of users to use the
i5/OS operating system.

External access entitlements:
Purchase an i5/OS external access entitlement to entitle an unlimited
number of users, external to your enterprise, to use the i5/OS operating
system on a machine

I didn't see that. What is "remote access" in this context?
