Re: A6005008 TwinAx Console Problems

Hi Jerry.
The machine is a scratch machine, new disks, new OS Install, new RAID Card. Its a Model 820 with 4319 Disks in it trying to 
IPL from the I_BASE_01 CD.
When we purchased the machine the previous user used Ops Console, but they Initialised the disks prior to the sale, and then 
I physically destroyed the Disks in the System Unit for extra piece of mind.
So, this machine has no OS, no way of getting into SST and no way it seems of gettig to DST. The problem is happening during 
the D Type IPL.
I have also removed (for an Hour) the battery on the system board incase any previous settings were being stored in cache 
somewhere.
I have also tried reverting back to the Ops Console, but it still hangs on that error.

There is a setting that specifies what type of console the system has.
On V5R3 one can use STRSST option #8.  I think there is, also, a
Dedicated Services Tools (DST) option.  This, according to the V5R4
upgrade manual, anyway, is what determines what console the system will
look for during a D IPL.


Sounds like your system is still set for Ops Console.
