Or convert them to hex representation... probably safer and easier to
understand.

Subject: Using a UUID to name an IFS file

Are the weird hex codes, generated by using a UUID, going to come back to
haunt me if I use UUID's to name my IFS files?
EVAL UUID
  UUID = 'lnõn. Ðä'
EVAL UUID :X
     00000     93952803 1D2518CF 954B0004 AC08432B   - ln.....õn...Ð.ä.

Would prefixing them be "a good idea"? Like prefix them with "UUID" so
that I can do a RMVLNK '/tmp/UUID*.txt'?

I vote for this one. It merely doubles the length of the name, and at the
same time removes any possibility of slashes or other no-nos. Of course, it
probably wouldn't hurt to prefix them as well, and/or stick them in an easy
to clean folder.
