Central Illinois - and a note about the IBM education initiative

Is there any other users of the list that live or work in the Central
Illinois area? 

 

The reason I am asking is that I know our LUG which used to be out of Peoria
went away quite a while ago and with LLCC considering adding some system i
classes (through the IBM education initiative) it would be nice to get
another one started.

 

If anyone is even remotely interested please email me.

 

As a side note, I have been in contact with Wendy Howerter at Lincoln Land
Community College and she has expressed a genuine interest in the IBM
Education Initiative and the free access to the 570 at University of
Nebraska at Lincoln.  Hopefully, we will see another college begin offering
classes on the system i
