The locating and updating dialog box listed all the JREs that it found, but C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\JRE was not in the list. I'm guessing that's the one iNav would use. It's the only one I've found on my PC not in lower case. There will also be a log file showing what it did, but if you run it twice it will overwrite that. When I ran the interactive mode and specified that folder the first time it said it was updating and the second time it said that it was current. I not expecting any problems, but if you run things like system monitors in Management Central who knows? Thanks. I have it running. I didn't have your directory so I am using C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\SDP\6.0\runtimes\base_v6\java\jre. That seems to be plugging along. How did you know that it didn't update the client access jre? Repeat, how do I check my PC to see if it ran it, and if not, run it more directly? Exactly! It's confusing as heck!! The path I used was C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1.1\runtimes\base_v51\java\jre It wouldn't run at all with C:\ but it would with C:\WDSC\sdk\jre so I'm guessing that it needs any valid JRE to run When the GUI popped up I chose the "Non-interactive mode: To search for and locate SDKs/JREs, updating each one found." After clicking OK on the warning that "This mode could potentially take hours to run." I received a locating and updating dialog that ran through the C: drive and updated 37 JREs in about an hour. Let it run all the way through, because it doesn't appear to update anything until the end. BUT, even that seemed to miss the CA JRE. For this one I had to use the Interactive mode and specify: C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\JRE I'm guessing that it's case sensitive?! Also make sure that you're on the current iSeries Access Service Pack. I am trying that JTZU update at http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/dst/index.html Checked out the readme at http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/dw/jdk/dst/readme.htm Changed the DirectorySearch.txt file to only all Runjtzu results in: C:\Qtemp\DST\JTZU>runjtzu *********** Welcome to the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JTZU) Version 1.3.7a *********** JTZU Home: C:\Qtemp\DST\JTZU\ Java Home: /*ENTER JAVA PATH UPTO JRE*/ Go to the Time zone directory Launching the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JTZU) .... "/*ENTER JAVA PATH UPTO JRE*/\bin\java.exe" -cp "C:\Qtemp\DST\JTZU\JTZU.jar" -Dn ogui=false -Ddiscoveronly=true -Dsilentpatch=false JTZUMain The system cannot find the path specified. End of IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java (JTZU). Obviously they want you to change the first line of the other batch file, runjtzuenv.bat, and they alluded to that with: **Caution: Windows Platforms After downloading and unzipping the JTZU package, be careful to edit the correct user parameters file. For Windows platforms this is runjtzuenv.bat (presented within Windows Explorer as "MS-DOS Batch File") The line in that batch file they want you to change is: rem set JAVA_HOME to the a Java installation directory set JAVA_HOME=/*ENTER JAVA PATH UPTO JRE*/ Which, I feel, conflicts with the readme instructions: How to search for JREs and SDKs Set the value of NOGUI in the JTZU Settings file to true. Set the value of DISCOVERONLY to true. Ensure that the DirectorySearch.txt file contains the value "all" as the only record. This step is important on z/OS because the file can be corrupted. Run JTZU by executing runjtzu.bat on Windows platforms, runjtzu.cmd on OS/2 platforms, or runjtzu.sh on other platforms By default, JTZU will search the entire file system. The utility will search for JREs and save the results in the LogFile.log file. SDKs and JREs that can be updated by JTZU will also be stored in the SDKList.txt file. This operation can take a long time depending on the size of the system being searched, but your JREs can still be running while they are being discovered. So, how do I determine that path?
