Frank,I'll toss this out and see if it is anything like you are experiencing. We have a web application that connects using JDBC to the System i. We also call a CL program that sets overrides for the file we need in the application. Usually, if we set an override and then it turns out that the library list doesn't contain the file, we get an error message AND I see a MSGW status on the QZDASOINIT job.
Just yesterday though, after I applied the CUME's and Groups, I had the message "Message . . . . : Error message CPF4101 appeared during OPEN for file XUR130L1 (C S D F)." in the QSYSOPR message queue. Normally, I run WRKODBCJOB (Bryan Dietz's utility) and I can see the error and WRKACTJOB shows me that I have a message waiting. However, I couldn't find the QZDASOINIT job that had the error. So I went back to the QSYSOPR message queue and looked again and pressed F9 for the details. IT showed that the job that was in error was here:
Message ID . . . . . . : RNQ1216 Severity . . . . . . . : 99 Date sent . . . . . . : 02/28/07 Time sent . . . . . . : 20:47:32 Message type . . . . . : Inquiry From . . . . . . . . . : DEMO CCSID . . . . . . . . : 65535 From job . . . . . . . . . . . : QZRCSRVS User . . . . . . . . . . . . : QUSER Number . . . . . . . . . . . : 395824
I am not sure why the error displays in this job rather than in QZDASOINIT where I usually see these things.
Anything similar to what you are experiencing? Pete Helgren fbocch2595@xxxxxxx wrote:
Hi folks, we're having an issue with an odbc/QZDASOINIT job that caused some jobs to abend due because the QZDASOINIT never ended properly and as a result files were open that couldn't be allocated or were in use when other jobs ran. In the QZDASOINIT joblog that caused the issue the last entry is "P54OPRAL in TESTCL type *FILE not found" but the job is not in msgw. Is that the way it is w/QZDASONIT's? Is there any way to change them to msgw or a way to end them in a clp? How do you folks deal w/this situation?
