Did the quote include any hardware?  Like, I don't know if you are missing 
any additional raid cards, etc (I suspect not because you can get more 
than 3 on a raid set and a 3 drive raid set performs miserably).
If it is just labor, I'd do it myself.  Heck I add drives all the time 
while our systems are running hot.  But it's been a few years since I've 
messed with 8xx boxes.
