<vent>I should hope we're non-standard! I've been going around and around with a software vendor that keeps insisting that I need to tell our DBA to run the "Database Optimization Tool" they provide-- it uses the RUNSTATS process to rebuild file indices, gather statistics, and otherwise clean up the database.
I keep telling them that the iSeries doesn't -have- a RUNSTATS command, it doesn't -need- a RUNSTATS command, and that I -am- the DBA.
Well, I'm the closest thing to a DBA we have on the iSeries machines.Now as far as I can determine, RUNSTATS does exist for DB2 on -other- platforms... but all we do on the iSeries is a RGZPFM from time to time. But try and convince non-iSeries people that we have a better way...
