Perhaps I did not provide enough detail for what I was hoping to accomplish. 
I do have FTP and other access. But I was under the impression that I could 
do something like CPYLIB from a local system to a remote as long as they 
were defined to each other. Is that not correct?

There is another thing I would like to do and that is to access the database 
on the remote system from an application program running locally. I 
understand that application programs are *automatically* connected to the 
local database but must issue an explicit CONNECT statement for a remote 
database.
