Thanks again for various suggestions.
Program is now past point of mysterious bomb, although not yet working. I
often not understand how come a bomb fix works.
I got past point of mysterious bomb via:
* I had been placing values into some packed fields so a 6.0 field (from
cursor B1 used in C1 selection) unpacked -4- as 7.0. I made it
unpacked 6.0.
* Do not open second cursor C1 until after actually read something from
first cursor B1.
* Zero out B1 fields after opening B1 cursor, before fetching first
population.
