IBM is selling parts of its business. Today, it is Ricoh buying the Printing 
division. See here:

of low margin hardware products that are increasingly seen as commodities."

So, while System i division is profitable, we can remain part of IBM? I was 
comparing an 820 yesterday - list price was originally over $2million. The 
current replacement cost is less than $250K. Maybe we are heading for someone 
to buy 51%? When will we be a commodity?
